My name is Sarah and I am excited to be joining the team at Horizons as an Occupational Therapist! I am originally from Colorado, and moved to Michigan to attend Calvin College, where I received my undergraduate degree in English. Following college, my husband and I moved to Tacoma, WA, where I attended the University of Puget Sound to receive my masters degree in OT. Once out of school, I worked for several years in a pediatric clinic specializing in sensory integration disorders.
For the past five years I have been “mostly” home raising my two children – Tyler age 5, and Megan age 18 months. I am so excited to have the opportunity to “dip my foot” back into the world of pediatric OT at Horizons through teaching a parent education course and offering direct therapy to families. I love pediatric OT because of the interaction with both children and their families, and feel so strongly about educating parents, who are truly the greatest agents of change in a child’s life! Outside of work and family, I am very involved with ministry at my church and love to spend time engaging in my favorite hobbies, which are playing piano and singing. We are an outdoor loving family, and I enjoy playing soccer, gardening, and chasing my kids around the yard! I look forward to meeting you and your precious kids at Horizons.
