Speech & Language Therapy

horizonspb_106There can be many underlying reasons why children exhibit speech and language impairments. The goal of our speech and language therapy program is to help children use and understand language effectively. Depending on the needs of the child, we help them learn to express themselves clearly, understand what others are saying, and make sense of what they read.

Our speech and language therapy services are In-Network with all Blue Cross Blue Shield Traditional and PPO insurance plans. We are happy to bill your insurance plan directly for these services if you have one of these plans. Other insurance plans will be billed on an out-of-network basis.

Parents are actively involved in therapy sessions with highly trained therapists guiding the process. You and your child will receive activities to bring home and practice together, ensuring better and faster development. Most families find they attend fewer in-clinic sessions as a result of receiving structure guidance and activities to incorporate at home.

Some of the specific methodologies we use to address speech and language challenges include:

  • Talk Tools®
  • Oral Motor Therapy
  • Rhythmic Movement Training (RMT®)
  • Idea Chain®
  • Lindamood-Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing®

“Our speech therapist, Erin, is one of the most creative, kind, and dedicated people we know. Her relationship with our son is a joy to watch; she is hands-down one of his favorite people. Our son has gone from a boy with echolalic and scripted speech to an increasingly articulate and funny young man. We have come a long way with Erin’s help and are grateful she is part of our lives.”
