Occupational Therapy Program
Most children referred for occupational therapy have a number of unidentified obstacles to their sensory and motor development. Our occupational therapy program identifies the foundational areas requiring treatment and customizes a plan for each client to address those areas.
As with all of the programs at Horizons, parents are actively involved in therapy sessions with a highly trained therapist guiding the treatment process. You and your child will receive activities to bring home and practice together, ensuring better and faster skill development. Most families find they attend fewer in-clinic sessions as a result of receiving structured guidance and activities to incorporate at home.
Some of the specific methodologies families have access to through the occupational therapy program at Horizons include: HANDLE® (Holistic Approach to Neurodevelopment and Learning Efficiency), Bal-A-Vis-X, Therapeutic Listening®, Yoga for Kids, Handwriting Without Tears®, and Brain Gym®.
