CORE Consultant

Rhythmic Movement Training Provider

Hi, my name is Michelle and I am one of the CORE consultants on staff here at Horizons. I am grateful to have a very supportive husband who has been such an encouragement during my career development. Together we have 2 beautiful daughters and a fun loving, adorable son. I love spending time with my family taking walks, rollerblading, riding bikes, or playing any kind of crazy sport in our front yard. During the winter months, we look forward to our weekend family ski trips. In my free time, I enjoy shopping, having coffee with my girlfriends, or reading a good book.

As for my professional life, I graduated from Calvin College with a bachelors in Social Work. My career started off at the University of Michigan running after school programs. I then worked in the public schools in a variety of special needs classrooms. While I enjoyed my work, I was never passionate about it until I began my journey with our director Nicole in 2003. We have been working together ever since, improving the lives of families who have been affected by autism or other neurological disorders.  I became an RDI® Program Certified Consultant in 2006 and was certified until 2011.

Working with the families at Horizons has been the most wonderful, rewarding, and challenging job I have ever had and the learning never ends! It has sparked a passion in me to see families come out of crisis and begin enjoying a changed relationship with their child. The families with whom I work are wonderful and all add a unique touch to my job, which I appreciate! The same is true of my co-workers who make coming to work so enjoyable. We all love working together and learn so much from each other on a daily basis. If you haven’t already considered Horizons as your home for treatment, I encourage you to do so. You’ll appreciate the comfortable feel the staff and center provide, and you’ll love being a part of our family!

See You Soon,
