Melanie Velting,

Instructional Assistant

Hi Everyone,

My name is Melanie Velting and I work at Horizons during the summer months. Before I decided to become a stay at home mom, I was employed as a paraprofessional in the public schools. As a paraprofessional I supported children of all ages in a variety of classroom settings and programs. I now enjoy time at home with my daughters during the school year, but like to stay connected with Horizons kids and families throughout the summer. My husband Kyle and I have two girls, ages 3 and 19 months, and are expecting another baby in October. We really enjoy spending time with our families, including going up North to my grandparents’ cottage on the weekends. Working at Horizons is very rewarding, and I love watching all the campers having fun and learning throughout the summer!
