Heather Wiersum, BA

Instructional Assistant

Hello!

My name is Heather and I am an assistant in the Individualized Instruction program at Horizons. I graduated from Calvin College in 2007 with a degree in recreational therapy and psychology. Throughout my college years I had many experiences working with individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities. I worked with Calvin’s special education students assisting them in communication, socialization, and activities of daily living. At the end of August I finished an internship working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries, completing assessment and planning treatment goals.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also make time for my horses, rock climbing, hiking, and playing tennis. I look forward to spending time with you and your family!

Sincerely,
