Speech Language Pathologist
CORE Consultant, Rhythmic Movement Training Provider,
Certified Nutrition Consultant, Feeding Specialist
Hi, my name is Erin.
Autism became a passion of mine approximately 13 years ago and I have been learning ever since. I can’t believe how lucky I was to have Nicole introduce me to her clinical work with family based treatment. The improvements and relationships that we see develop on a daily basis is worth every moment that is spent planning and working with each family. In all of my years of working with children on the autism spectrum I have not seen anything that makes this kind of impact for the children and families.
I have a master’s degree in speech/language pathology, and hold a Michigan teaching certificate. I have been working as consultant to families of children with autism and neurodevelopmental disorders in the private sector since 2006 and have been practicing speech/language pathology since 1995. In 2006 I became an RDI® Program Certified Consultant, and maintained certification until 2011. Prior to joining Horizons full time in 2008, I worked in the public school system for 13 years as a speech/language pathologist and autism teacher consultant.
As well as working with families through our CORE consultation program, I also have the great pleasure of working with children in need of speech and language services, feeding, and nutritional needs. I am trained in the SOS approach to feeding and am a Certified Nutrition Consultant.
When I am not working I love spending time with my young daughter. It is amazing to see how she grows and develops each day. I have a great family support system and enjoy spending time with my mom and sister. We like traveling around the U.S. together. I spend a lot of my personal time reading and watching movies. I love getting together with friends for “game nights.” I have a family member with an autism spectrum disorder and one with a developmental disability, which gives me some personal experience with the day-to-day difficulties our families face.
I encourage and invite those of you who are interested in finding out more about the programs we have to offer to visit the rest of our sight or to set up an appointment to speak with one of us. We would love to have you join our Horizons family. Next to my own family I couldn’t ask for better people to spend my time with and call my family.
